On May 9th, we spent the day in Cocoa at the Florida Solar Energy Center (
www.fsec.ucf.edu) on the campus of Brevard CC and UCF for the 2009 Energy Whiz Olympics. It included the Solar car races, Solar energy cookoff and hydrogen sprint. We had some delay with the clouds but it was worth it. AJ and his co-team Gian (John), won first place for 6th grade for the Solar car races. They used the car that AJ designed. Needless to say, AJ was ecstatic the entire ride home (and I am so proud of him). He wants to do it again next year but also wants to do the solar cookoff.
